WordPress 3.4 is about to be released this week and includes a bunch of great new features.
We've taken the time to have a quick look and here's a quick summary of what's coming.
1. Theme previews and customisation
You can now preview how themes will look on your site without fully switching them on. We find this really handy as in the past you could possibly break your site just having a look at another theme.
You can also customise your themes, using the new 'customiser' functionality which allows visual theme customisation.
2. Custom Headers
You can now easily modify your theme header section to change the size of header images to suit your needs.
3. Twitter Integration
We're really excited about this one. You can now Tweet directly from WordPress when creating a new post. Previously you needed extra plugins to do this. It's now built in. I wonder if Facebook is coming soon too?
4. Improved Image Captions
There is now support for better image captions when adding images to the Media Library. You can now also format the captions.
5. Improved changes "Under the hood" including better support for developers (such as ourselves) to customise and tweak functionality without having to re-invent the wheel. This ultimately makes customisations more cost effective for our clients.
Please let us know if you wish any assistance with upgrading your WordPress site to the latest version and check out Facebook page for when this new release hits the streets.
